PRODUCTION ESSAYS
I have chosen to present three essays on the recording process, which I hope you will find useful and informative:
1. The Role of the Recording
and Mastering Producer: a brief presentation of my philosophy as
a producer that I have adhered to for over 30 years. It outlines the key roles
that a producer plays in the overall success of a recording, and why a producer
is necessary to a recording session.
2. From Editing Plot to Creation
of the Final Production Master: you've finished the recording sessions,
now what? This essay outlines the basic steps from creation of the editing plot
to the completion of the production master.
3. Recommendations
for Choral Recording Sessions: this essay addresses key recommendations
and basic expectations for members of a chorus, before and during a recording
session. Although it is specifically addressed to chorus members, the information
is useful for any ensemble preparing for a recording session.
